The Bride Quest II trilogy is sometimes called the Scottish Bride Quest. This trilogy begins with the story of Eglantine de Crevy in The Countess, a widow seeking a better life for her daughters. She’s inspired by the romance of her childhood friend Burke (hero of The Damsel) to launch a bride quest for her daughters, never anticipating that she’ll find true love herself. The daughters’ stories are told in the other two books. It’s best to read this trilogy in order, but it’s not necessary to read the original Bride Quest first.
The covers on the original mass market editions were designed by Alan Ayers, continuing the design of the original Bride Quest. Only The Countess and The Beauty had step-backs in their original editions, though. The illustrations for these new editions were done by Eithne O’Hanlon, with type added by Kim Killion.
