Don’t Be Fooled #2

My Lady's Desire by Claire Delacroix in German January 2017 edition

This week, Harlequin has published a German edition of one of my books. You can see it at left. They have the right to do this, and that’s not my concern. What troubles me is that it looks like a new book, but it’s not.

This book is a German translation of My Lady’s Desire, which was originally published in English in May 1998.

The book was already translated and published in the German market in 2001.

My Lady's Desire, book #3 of the Sayerne trilogy of medieval romances by Claire Delacroix, German edition

The previous German cover is on the right.

The two editions aren’t linked on Amazon.de – which is what usually happens when there’s a new edition of a previously published title.

Please don’t be fooled into thinking this is an entirely new book.

The original English edition of My Lady’s Desire, btw, had a lovely cover illustration by Judy York, as shown below. Judy’s artwork was used in several other markets, too, but not Germany.

Print Books at Chapters/Indigo

The Dragon Legion Collection, including all three Dragon Legion novellas and #9 in the Dragonfire series of paranormal romances, by Deborah CookeOne of the things I’ve been working on this fall is finally coming to fruition. I’ve been making print editions of my books available through Ingrams. They still remain available through Createspace and Amazon, but other booksellers (and libraries) often prefer to buy from Ingrams. One of the reasons is that Ingrams lets indie authors make their books returnable, while Createspace does not. Bookstores prefer to have that option.

Last summer, I listed the final three Dragonfire novels at Ingrams as well as the True Love Brides series and my new Champions of Saint Euphemia series. This fall’s job was continuing through all the backlist.

Guardian, book #2 of the Prometheus Project of urban fantasy romances by Claire DelacroixWith some help from the good people at Ingrams, I’ve got the books now available there, and sure enough, they’re starting to show up as available on the Chapters/Indigo website. There will be more, but here are the new additions to their online catalogue today:

Third Time Lucky
One More Time

Fallen
Guardian
Rebel
Abyss

The Beauty by NYT Bestselling Author Claire DelacroixThe Beauty
The Temptress

The Warrior

The Beauty Bride
The Snow White Bride

This change also means that you can order my books through your local bookstore, no matter what store it is because they all order from Ingrams. It also means that you can request that your library acquire any of these titles – which are available to libraries in digital editions through Overdrive.

Ha. Another job off my list!

Fallen

Fallen, an urban fantasy romance by Claire Delacroix

Fallen, the first of my Prometheus Project series of urban fantasy romances (set in a dystopian future and featuring fallen angel heroes) has gone off to be formatted. Phew! it’s also formatted for print now, and the print edition is waiting on its cover.

Having these books re-edited has proven to be quite the adventure. My editor found far more than I anticipated, so we’ve been working on the entire trilogy at once. On the upside, though, I’m much happier with the book. There have been some changes and corrections, plus there’s bonus content in this edition. I should be able to give you buy links for Fallen soon.

And tomorrow, I’ll work on finalizing Guardian!

It’s time for another reader contest! This month’s prize is a signed trade paperback copy of my contemporary romance, All or Nothing. The story starts at Thanksgiving and ends at Christmas, which makes it a perfect read for this time of year.

September Reader Contest

It’s time for another reader contest! The prize for September is a signed trade paperback copy of The Beauty, a medieval romance that was my first New York Times’ bestseller. This is the second book in the Bride Quest II trilogy.
