You might recall that I had a plan to offer special shiny editions of the Dragonfire Novels at Kickstarter and had put a campaign up there for you to follow. Well, that plan has changed.

It would have been a very ambitious project – lots of moving parts, as a friend of mine likes to say – and the books would have been comparatively expensive. It adds up when there are twelve of them! I also had planned to divide it out to three or four campaigns, but that would make us vulnerable to changes in materials at the printers. I would want the entire set to be consistent. So, I took down that campaign, regrouped, and have a new strategy.

There won’t be sparkle on these books, but they look shiny (I promise. You’ll see.) They’ll be available drop-shipped from the printer to save on shipping costs, or signed and shipped from me in Canada.

These books also need a cover update at the retailers, so these new editions will perk out to retailers for December 2026. eBooks, trade paperbacks and hardcover editions will get a new package. These new editions are for all eleven print books plus Here Be Dragons: The Dragonfire Companion. Twelve books for your keeper shelf! I should be able to show you that shortly as we’ve been working on the design since August.

There will be character art, family trees and more for backers of the Kickstarter campaign, which I’m planning to run in February. Essentially, you’ll get them early via Kickstarter, get them signed if you choose, and get more campaign goodies, too.

Remember that Kickstarter now has a pay-by-installment plan which divides your pledge into three payments charged at monthly intervals.
