There are new covers for the DragonFate Novels, designed by Aaricia at Malice & Mayhem. These will be available in ebook, duplexed trade paperback and jacketed hardcover, at Kickstarter first in January/February, then at retailers in October 2027.
The idea is that the series will be complete with six books, so Aaricia has assigned colours that head from blue into violet for the next three books.
These images appear on the dust jacket of the hard covers and the outside covers of the trade paperbacks. There is also a graphic design for the case laminate of each book, which is also on the duplex on the trade paperback. I’ll show you those when the sample books arrive from the printer.
Aaricia has also designed lovely chapter backgrounds for each book, as you can see below. That’s the one for Dragon’s Kiss.
And – this gives me a ridiculous amount of joy – she supplied me with the little corner images (the raven, the shell and the anvil) to include in the footer with the page number.

In these print editions, Maeve’s Book of Beasts is included in Dragon’s Kiss, making it a fat book – but that’s better than how thin MBB is on its own, I think.
I’ve uploaded the interiors to the printer, which means that the links will begin to populate at retailers for pre-orders for next October. Next, I’ll approve the files and order proof copies. I can’t wait to see them!
You can also follow the campaign at Kickstarter to be notified when it launches in January. Not only will you be able to get your books early there, but there is other fun swag – like character illustrations and colouring pages by Kit Fox.
