Books, books, books. My first print copies of the new Flatiron Five Fitness editions have arrived, and they look awesome!

When you set out all the covers together, they make up a background image of the fitness club. To do that, we start at the bottom right, at the entrance with Just One Fake Date, and end upstairs at the summit of the rockclimbing wall with When Annika Met Thom.

Sometimes you don’t see a detail until the print books arrived. I noticed a teeny fix we need to do on the spines with this series:

Some of the books are different lengths so they end up with spines of different thicknesses. I knew about that. Previously, Just Home for the Holidays was a mass market paperback, but I didn’t like how that lined up with the others (because it didn’t line up!) So, this time, Hunter and Chloe’s story is in trade, too, but the couple illustration ended up a little higher than on the other books. The designer is going to drop that down a bit. It’s something you wouldn’t see until they’re all together like this.

Just One Hometown Hero is particularly thick because it includes the novella Two Weddings and a Baby this time. That was also a mmpb in the previous editions, and it didn’t line up with the other books.

The same designer is also redoing the covers for Flatiron Five Tattoo so the books all coordinate. Those four stories were mass market paperbacks, as well, in the previous edition. That format doesn’t sell well in print-on-demand as it ends up being comparatively expensive. What sells for Flatiron Five Tattoo is the trade paperback with all four stories, so that will be the only print edition this time. It will be a slightly taller trade paperback than these (6 x 9″ instead of 5.5 by 8.5″) to keep the spine from being too fat.
