Yesterday, I did something that I haven’t done for a while – I plucked a book from my To Be Read pile and fell right in to the story. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a lot of time to read fiction, and even longer since I’ve picked up a book that grabbed me from the first page. It’s also been a while since I didn’t mind losing a day to a wonderful book – I only emerged from the story at dinner, and went right back to it afterward.
My TBR pile is huge and well-aged – not having enough time to read hasn’t stopped me from buying books! – and you’ll see as much when I tell you the title of the book. It was MEMOIRS OF A GEISHA by Arthur Golden, which I think I have had for at least ten years. In relocating the part of the TBR stacked on the floor, it was rotated to the top of the pile, where it caught my eye.
It’s a wonderful book. If you haven’t read it, I suggest that you do.
Today, though, I’m avoiding the temptation of going back to the TBR for more. I’m going to get some work done!

I had the same reaction to that book! Grabbed me right away and I just couldn’t put it down!
