UK Editions of YA Titles

Something interesting has happened this week and it’s a first for me. Allison & Busby has bought the UK Commonwealth English rights for FLYING BLIND and WINGING IT. This means that both books will be available in those territories in a different edition than the US edition – and also that there will be changes made to the books for the UK market. It also means that the publication dates in those territories will be slightly delayed – although the plan is for FLYING BLIND to be released in 2011.

Details are still being filled in, but this is exciting! I’ve never had separate English editions produced of any of my works.

  1. Excellent news, lass! They publish Rachel Caine’s books in the UK, and they’ve done well, so hopefully that bodes well for your books there, too 🙂

    1. Yes, Tez, I saw that they had lots of RC’s YA series, so their publishing program for those books must be working for everyone. I’m excited!

    1. Well, technically, you don’t. But sometimes there are different editions published even in different English language territories. Often they have tweaks to make the book fit the market and the audience better.

      Make sense?
