Review for The Crusader’s Handfast

The Crusader's Handfast, #5 in the Champions of Saint Euphemia series of medieval romances by Claire DelacroixDebbie posted a wonderful review and showcase for The Crusader’s Handfast at her blog, The Reading Frenzy. Here’s part of what she had to say:

Like all the previous in her fabulous Champions of St. Euphemia tales, Claire Delacroix’s 5th in the series, The Crusader’s Handfast is like stepping through time back to the era of the Knights Templar. Her masterful storytelling is informative and insightful and the magnificent pageantry and the infusion of interesting historical facts with her incredible fiction gives the read an honesty not readily found in the genre. Her suspenseful side stories and co-stars add depth but it’s the May-September romance between her feisty heroine and principled hero that really rock this medieval read.”

Thanks, Deb!

Harlequin Historicals Foreign Editions

I love foreign editions. It’s so interesting to see how the stories are presented in different markets, sometimes with the same cover imagery and sometimes not. (I particularly enjoy the Viking cover on the first Italian edition of Unicorn Bride, which is a medieval set in southern France.) It’s also interesting to see which titles go to which markets. I had a lot of foreign editions from Harlequin Historicals, but this is only a selection – it’s pretty common for authors to not receive titles from foreign markets. These are the ones I have. I’ll group them here by countries and versions. Again, I don’t have digital book covers, so these are photographs of actual books, some of which are no longer square.

The Rogues of Ravensmuir Foreign Editions

There weren’t many foreign editions of The Rogues of Ravensmuir books, for a number of reasons, but I think it’s a shame. These are the kinds of books that would have performed well, particularly in Germany and Spain. C’est la vie!

It is very strange that Ysabella’s name was changed to Virginia for the French edition of The Rogue. I never could figure that out, as Ysabella is a French name. (?) I particularly love the cover for The Warrior from Spain – it might be my fave cover ever.

The Bride Quest Foreign Editions

The Bride Quest trilogy was particularly popular in Germany, where it was published in multiple editions. Here are a few of them, grouped together in design suites. The strange thing is when not all books are published in a particular design suite, but it happens all the time.
