I’m Deborah and I love writing romance novels that blend emotion, humor, and happily-every-after. I’ve been publishing my stories since 1992 and have written as Claire Delacroix (historical and fantasy romance), Claire Cross (time travel romance and romantic comedy) and myself (paranormal romance and contemporary romance). My goal is to keep you turning the pages, no matter which sub-genre you prefer.

After a 10-year fight I was awarded SSD last week. I plan to treat myself to the complete ebook set :-}

Deb, the covers are GREAT
Can’t wait to see what I missed before I knew you, I love to read authors reissued novels and I agree with your not changing them.

Thanks Deb –
Well, some of the references are a bit dated now, but changing them would mean changing all of the books and I know that there are people who love them just the way they are.

SSD is social security disability.
Although it is more complicated than I can explain here, in essence it’s a monthly payment from monies taken from each paycheck I earned since age 12 (called FICA).
It is a protection against illness and injury permanently keeping a person from working.
It seems the first hearing I had, the judge denied me unfairly. This judge thinks I should have gotten it six years ago.
So, yep it is great news. I have a monthly income and will also be receiving some back pay.

That will make things much less stressful for you and Oscar. 🙂

Thanks Deb and Debbie!
It doesn’t seem real quite yet. When I get some of the money I think it will sink in. I plan to buy Oscar a terrific present, he has been a rock through all this,
When we first got married, we talked about things like hiking the Adirondacks or going on walking trips through Scotland. Instead I am only able to go where my chair goes, and Oscar along side.
We have lots of fun, don’t get me wrong but it has been an adjustment of vision.

True enough, Diana. Most things seem more real when the cheque clears!
I don’t get the impression that Oscar thinks he drew the short straw. That’s part of what partnership is all about – you help each other deal with whatever comes your way. You both seem to be very happy to me, which is a wonderful thing. 🙂
And I am glad to hear that your load has gotten a little lighter.
