More on Printed Editions

If you’ve been looking to buy the new printed editions of my backlist titles, I apologize for any delays you might have experienced lately. I’ve been changing the files and the books can’t be produced so long as the content file is being modified. The change involves adding the publishing history on the copyright page of each book, something I should have thought of doing in the first place. This is a good way to acknowledge that a title is a reprint.

The reason it’s taken longer to get everything finalized is that I believed that previous ISBN#’s had to be listed along with the previous editions. This is incorrect. Apparently, there can only be one ISBN# listed on the copyright page, and that would be the ISBN# for the current edition. The past edition is listed without an ISBN# – just the publisher, format and date of publication. Many thanks to the team at Createspace for helping me to get this straightened out.

As of right now, there are eight titles available in new printed editions. They are:

The Rogue
The Scoundrel
The Warrior
The Beauty Bride
The Rose Red Bride
The Snow White Bride (which includes “The Ballad of Rosamunde”)
Once Upon A Kiss
The Last Highlander

There are three more titles in process. I’m waiting on proofs and expect these to be available in April.

The Countess
The Beauty
The Temptress

Next up will be the other two time travels – Love Potion #9 and The Moonstone – but I’m not sure whether they’ll get formatted in April or June. My next priority is getting The Renegade’s Heart finished and formatted for May. The tt’s will have to wait their turn!

As for shopping options, all of the new editions are (or will be) available at both Createspace and at Amazon. Titles can be made available through extended distribution channels, but this is a bit of an odd thing. I have to pay a fee to have books put through extended distribution, and then I make considerably less royalty per sale through those channels. It’s not entirely clear to me how many outlets will pick up these titles, even if they are available – theoretically, they should be offered at Barnes & Noble, and should be available for order through any bookstore.

Part of the spirit of indie publishing is experimentation. So, I’m doing a test with this distribution option and my backlist titles – five titles are available through extended distribution and depending upon how well they do, I’ll decide what to do with the rest of the backlist. (As a new title, The Renegade’s Heart will definitely go through extended distribution.) The books available through extended distribution are:

The Beauty Bride
The Rose Red Bride
The Snow White Bride
Once Upon A Kiss
The Last Highlander

It may take time for the books to show up at your outlet of choice – Createspace notes 6 to 8 weeks as average – or that outlet might not choose to stock them. I’m not quite sure what to expect, so let me know what you see at your end.

And now, back to Murdoch and Isabella…
