Writers’ Groups

I went to my writers’ group meeting last Saturday (that’s Toronto Romance Writers) and had a wonderful time.

Actually, I participated in a panel discussion about publishing and writing. It turned out to be one of those invigorating discussions, in which  lots of perspectives were expressed and lots of experience was shared. I came home, thinking like crazy. As a bonus, a few ideas for my mip crept into my imagination and set up shop while I wasn’t paying attention.

Do you belong to a writers’ group? Do you find it inspiring? What’s your favourite part of going to a meeting?

I love my writer’s group and don’t mind the hour plus trip to get there. There’s a closer group, but the Heartland Writers Group is where my heart is. One of the best things about the group right now is that new writers are discovering us and joining. Never underestimate the joy, enthusiasm and encouragement meeting these new folks can bring to another author!

    1. You’re right, *lizzie. My group isn’t close either, but whenever I make the trip, I come away so energized by being with other writers!

About Me
USA Today bestselling author Deborah Cooke, who also writes as Claire Delacroix

I’m Deborah and I love writing romance novels that blend emotion, humor, and happily-every-after. I’ve been publishing my stories since 1992 and have written as Claire Delacroix (historical and fantasy romance), Claire Cross (time travel romance and romantic comedy) and myself (paranormal romance and contemporary romance). My goal is to keep you turning the pages, no matter which sub-genre you prefer.
