Those of you who visit this blog regularly or my Facebook page will be familiar with one of my most loyal readers, Donovan Draconis. Well, Donovan bought the copy of DARKFIRE KISS at the auction for Fatin – he’s not only read it already but has written a review. Here it is!
Deborah does it again….
In probably one of the most anticipated firestorms in the series so far, we find Rafferty Powell, the hopeless romantic and spokesman for the duration of the dragon shape shifting Pyr, experiencing his firestorm in the sixth book in the Dragonfire series. In this latest installment Rafferty Powell will find his world flipped upside down by the most unlikeliest of sources, Melissa Smith – a woman with her own secrets and her own agendas that could put all of the Pyr in grave danger.
As a journalist Melissa seeks the truth, however, not all truths are meant to be discovered as she must forge a team with Rafferty if they are to accomplish their goals and survive the powerful force that is the Darkfire and the Leader of the Slayers, Magnus, who will stop at nothing to take everything Rafferty has. They must sate this darkfire before they lose everything as it takes everything that you’ve learned about the Pyr so far and puts it to the test. Lines will be crossed and the entire world of the Pyr will be turned on its axis as everything is brought into question and new discoveries will be made. Will Rafferty be able to successfully navigate the firestorm he has waited over a thousand years for, or will the thing he has longed for most be the very thing that will destroy the Pyr forever.
As a stand alone Darkfire Kiss can easily stand on it feet, or claws if you please, but it is still highly recommended to have read the prior five novels to truly appreciate this enthralling piece of literary wonder, as Deborah latches on and pulls you farther into the world of the Pyr filled with mystery and suspense. From raging battles in the skies to sensual scenes behind closed doors, Darkfire Kiss will keep you enveloped in its pages as you keeps you driven to find out what will happen next…
20 out of 20 talons for Darkfire Kiss!!! There would be more but alas… I have run out of claws….I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did and I would recommend this book along with all of Deborah’s other works to anyone who with a desire and a hunger for a true literary classic in the making.
