Changes at Penguin Canada

David Davidar is leaving Penguin Canada – and there’s lots of ink on this in the Canadian press. There is concern over Penguin’s decision to not replace him, and to manage the Canadian office out of New York.

From an author’s perspective, it’s hard to anticipate how much such a change will affect individual authors and programs, if there’s any discernible effect at all. I would expect any ripples to be felt most by authors edited and published out of the Toronto offices of Penguin Canada, but it might well be that there is no change at all.

My Dragonfire series, just FYI, is published in the NAL Eclipse program, which is edited and published out of the New York offices of Penguin. My books are distributed in Canada by Penguin Canada, but I don’t have any direct dealings with the Canadian branch of the company. (Similarly, they’re distributed in the UK by Penguin UK, but I don’t have direct dealings with those offices either.) So, I expect no change.

About Me
USA Today bestselling author Deborah Cooke, who also writes as Claire Delacroix

I’m Deborah and I love writing romance novels that blend emotion, humor, and happily-every-after. I’ve been publishing my stories since 1992 and have written as Claire Delacroix (historical and fantasy romance), Claire Cross (time travel romance and romantic comedy) and myself (paranormal romance and contemporary romance). My goal is to keep you turning the pages, no matter which sub-genre you prefer.
