We have another Dragonfire surprise coming, although you won’t have to wait as long for this one. There’s a bit of a story behind it.
When I was writing Niall’s book – WHISPER KISS, coming this August – I started to wonder about the Dragon’s Teeth Warriors. It has to be pretty tough to be enchanted for a couple of thousand years, then have the spell broken. The world would be completely different. It seemed to me that these guys must have their own stories to tell – I wrote a subplot for WHISPER KISS about the DTW and what they were up to during the timeline of the book.
In the course of revisions, we pulled that subplot out of the book, because it didn’t really add to Rox and Niall’s romance. But I still really liked it, and my editor and I talked about it a few times. (She liked it too.) I was going to post it as an out-take on my website, but she thought I should actually make it longer. She wanted to know even more about the DTW. She gave me a list of questions about this excerpt, which gave me a bunch of ideas. And so, it’s become a novella in its own right, and it will be published in July of this year – kind of a prelude to WHISPER KISS. It will only be available digitally and I believe only from the Penguin website, but I’ll give you links and more info when I have it.
It was a lot of fun finding out more about the DTW, as well as fleshing out their characters and stories. I like this piece a lot and I hope you enjoy it too!

It sounds great and I can’t wait to read it. I was wondering about what happened to them. I’m sure it must have been a culture shock and am looking forward to getting to find out more about them.

I love the Dragonfire series but I dislike ebooks. Do you know if Harmonia’s Kiss will come out in paperback in the future, either in an anthology or on your website or in the back of one of your future books. Please keep your Dragonfire stories in paperback even if some go to ebooks. Please let me know, thank you. Lynette.

At this point, there are no plans to print the Harmonia’s Kiss novella but, as you suggest, I could see it being included in anthology one day or as a bonus read in a print book. That’s a possibility but it’s not in the works right now. (I don’t have the right to put it on my website.) If and when that happens, I’ll tell you about it here, on my site and on my Facebook page!
As for the Dragonfire books themselves, NAL does a simultaneous digital and print release for each one and, as far as I know, that will remain the case.
