As I’ve mentioned bunches of times, I’ll be the Writer in Residence at the Toronto Public Library this October and November. There are some public events associated with the residency and a critique possibility for library patrons, but for those of you living farther afield, there is one more resource.
I’ll be blogging at the TPL site in October and November. On Mondays, I’ll post on some aspect of writing romance, on Wednesdays I’ll leave you some links for further exploration, and on Fridays, we’ll have some special guests drop by to share their perspectives. (I’m pretty excited about the guests.) Of course, you are invited to participate in the discussions on the blog, and I hope you do.
And this is where the blog will be. First post is queued up for October 5. 🙂

Dear Deborah Cooke,
I am looking forward to meeting you this fall at the Toronto Public Library events. I did not realize that you write romance as well as Science Fiction/Fantasy.
I am hoping that I will have the courage to finish and submit (in proper format) my synopsis and first 50 pages for your evaluation (beginning 1st of September 2009).
Thank you for taking on the task of Writer-in-Residence. I’m also a knitting, science fiction, etc. fanatic, so I know how hard it is to squeeze even more into your creating-days!
Sincerely,
I. E.

Hi I.E. –
Actually, everything I’ve ever published has been romance, although a lot of it has had fantasy elements.
Hope you get your partial polished up in time. If it’s SFF, btw, the next writer in residence at the TPL will be an SFF writer. I’m not sure who the author will be – the choice might not be made yet – but that residency will be in 2010 and would offer a better critique for an SFF ms.
