We’ve talked about blank books before, and generally agreed that we like them.
A lot.
No surprise that I’ve acquired a few more. I was in the stationary store and they had a new size that I thought would be handy – that in-between size, which is big enough to write entire paragraphs on each page, yet will still fit in a purse. I admired them, thought about buying one, decided to buy one, then saw the sign – buy two, get one free. You know what happened: I brought home three.
Now we’re in the honeymoon period during which I think they’re too nice to use. I have them on my desk and keep rearranging them, admiring their covers. (These are the faux-embossed-leather ones.)
Once upon a time, my blank books stayed in the honeymoon period forever, but I have actually been using them. I only have one left, which was why I stopped to check them out in the first place.
What about you? Do you love blank books? Do you write in them? Have you bought any pretty ones lately?
And the big question – WHAT do you write in them?

This is funny, as I bought two notebook sized blank books, spiral bound with nice faux-leather covers and strong backs excellent for writing support just the other day.
Now they’re still sitting in the bag, because they’re too nice to ruin with just scribbling.

Hmm. Yet more evidence that we were twins, tragically separated at birth, and that this Alicia person is an imposter…

I love blank books. I have used them for dream journals, to sketch stuff, to jot down poetry, to list five-year plans… I don’t think I’ve ever filled one completely. I have been reorganizing and coming across them lately. I also adore office and school supplies, and have used up many secretarial notebooks and legal pads with various notes on patterns to make in the future. And pens. I have enough pens to last the rest of my life, if the ink stays fluid. I have become enamored with “Dr. Grip” pens, but any pen wass good to have… until this week, when I’m sorting through all my junk.

Oh Diana, office supply stores are like candy aisles. You just HAVE to see what’s new, if that sticky notepad is better than the one you’re using now, if there’s a better pen.
My other downfall is organizer planners – I want one, but I really have no life to keep track of, so they go largely wasted. But that doesn’t mean I look at every model every year…just in case.

I collect blank books like an addict.
There are two my sis in law gave me one year that I really fought against using but I took one and started using it.
A smallish one, different kind, is in my purse which remains unmarked.
There is one a friend made for me that I used to jot down ideas but now it’s dusty and ignored.
Office supply stores are evil. So many items I want to bring home to add to my ever-growing stack of items.
I’m an addict. Isn’t that the first step? 😉
