Oh, yes, Natasha has done it again. Another fab review for another Dragonfire book – 4.5 ribbons!
Here’s what she had to say:
“Dragonfire, Book 3: Kiss of Fate
Deborah Cooke
4.5 Blue Ribbons
Readers clamoring for Erik’s story need wait no longer. Eileen is his heroine and KISS OF FATE is his story.

Erik Sorensson knows that a dragon lucky enough to have a firestorm in his lifetime is a lucky dragon indeed. As the leader of the Pyr, he knows that dragons anxiously await the coming of their fated Mate and so on the new eclipse he and his fellow dragons meet once again to see who is going to exhibit the next firestorm. When Erik recognizes the woman in the crystal, he is beside himself. The woman in question is Erik’s firestorm – his second.
Eileen Grosvenor has been having many strange dreams. Waking up with wet hair after a harrowing nightmare involving water, she tries to remember the dream only to be able to remember the man in it – a man she has never seen before but can’t seem to forget. When she comes face to face with this same man later that night, and he suddenly turns scaly, Eileen fears she is losing her mind. Having no choice but to trust Mr. Big, Mean and Fiery, Eileen allows him to fly her to safety – only to realize hours later that she is in just as much danger as before.
Erik tries to convince Eileen to allow him to be in charge of the relics she somehow has in her possession. The Pyr need the relics, but so do the Slayers. Danger follows them back to America, but somehow Erik finds a way to keep him and Eileen safe. After all, she is his future – one that he never thought he would have again.
KISS OF FATE is the story of second chances. Pyr are rarely lucky enough to find their first firestorm, not to mention their second one. It is because of this that Erik is so leery of Eileen in the beginning. The more time she spends with him, the more he is able to realize that yes, miracles do happen, and his miracle just happens to be named Eileen. Each character faces their fears head on and their bravery in the face of adversity or rather, deadly Slayers, just makes KISS OF FATE shine.
The third book of Ms. Cooke’s DRAGONFIRE series, KISS OF FATE really delivers. The highly intense and often dark emotions of this book kept me on the edge of my seat and frantically turning pages. It was a tremendous read!”
