The Worshipful Company of Glovers

,

This is an online collection of some stupendous examples of historical gloves. It’s a bit of a pig because it’s picture-heavy, but the gloves are worth waiting for. There are knitted ones and there are leather ones, embroidered ones and just plain beautiful ones. They’re dated, so it’s a good research source for you historical writers.

  1. Ohhh I’ve already spent loads of time there today…
Gorgeous, and how sexy were those Edwardian mousquetaires with the opening unbuttoned just over a lady’s pulse point?

  3. Oh that is a dangerous site indeed. Every glove I looked at my brain tried to figure out who wore them and what they were like. Before I knew it I had daydreamed away a couple hours. LOL.
The detailing on some of them were just breathtaking.
