FALLEN Reviews & A Subtle Nudge

,

I’ve been hunting reviews, just the way Lilia hunts shades.

“Readers will appreciate this entertaining urban romantic fantasy from the moment Adam’s wings are clipped and enters wolf laden Central Park and never slows down as Claire Delacroix paints a nightmarish future. The story line is action-packed; mostly driven by the horrifically vivid bleak post nuclear war world but also to a degree by the lead couple as he now understands temptation and she hesitates to trust anyone with her “skins”. Hopefully Ms. Delacroix provides future tales in this FALLEN future venue.”

That’s Harriet Klausner’s FIVE STAR review (W00t!), which she also posted on B&N. You can read all of it here.

Stacy, whose blog is Scooper Speaks, calls FALLEN “a keeper that I’ll read once a year” in her review, which you can read here.

Romantic Times gave FALLEN four stars, but I haven’t seen the review. (If you have, can you tell me what it says? 🙂 )
Joanne at Romance Reader at Heart calls FALLEN “is a tender romance amid an eerie thriller” and says it’s “a very entertaining read with just enough romance to keep a girl happy.” What’s not to love about that? Read all of her review here.

I’ve told you already about the Romance Junkies’ Five Ribbon reviewFALLEN is electrifying, suspenseful, and poignant. Claire Delacroix has me intrigued and begging for more of this supernatural and futuristic world!” as well as Jennifer at Wild on Books’ rave review. And Ellen has posted her five star review at Borders.com, as well as on the RWAOL site. I told you about Tanzey’s review at Fresh Fiction.

Did I miss any?

The real question, of course, is whether you’ve ordered your copy yet or not. 😀 How was that? Nice and subtle?! LOL!

  1. Hi Claire,

I am a reader from Singapore. I am a fan of yours. My favourite book by far has been Double Trouble – the witty repartee made it a keeper for me. The very close second is Fallen and your little blurb at the end of the book for Guardian has me even more intrigued. It sets a premise for Lilia and another fallen angel, Rafe? What happened to Adam then?

Any possibility on some enlightenment or am I doomed to wait till October 2009? 😦

  2. Hi Audree –

Nope, you don’t have to wait! There are three books in this series, each of which features one fallen angel and the woman who steals his heart. The first book features Lilia and Montgomery, who will appear as continuing characters in subsequent stories, and the second features Rafe and Delilia (Lilia’s daughter). Rafe and Delilia will be continuing characters in the third book.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed the book! DT is one of my favourites too (as much as I can choose favourites among my books!) If you read historicals, FALLEN has a lot in common with THE ROGUE, but that might just be me.

    Take care and happy reading!

  3. Dear Claire,

Wow! You answered so promptly! Much appreciated. Thanks for the clarification because the synopsis mentioned Lilia and not Delilia so I thought either this is a continiuing series like JD Robb’s Eve (but without her Roarke) or something befell Adam and Lilia somehow moved on, which thankfully is not the case.(huge sigh of relief!)

I’ll get a copy of Rogue on my next visit to the bookstore!

    Cheers! 🙂

  4. Audree –

There is a typo in that copy. I have to admit that I never read the print book and that’s because typos bug me. After reading and correcting the page proofs, there’s nothing I can do about any persistent changes and I’d rather not know about them! LOL. I didn’t even realize that that page for GUARDIAN was there and it does have a typo.

I’ll put a note up on my website to that effect and let the house know about it. Thanks for calling it to my attention!
