A little while back, I raffled off an Advance Reading Copy of KISS OF FURY right here on Alive & Knitting. Becky was the lucky winner and posted a comment this week about how much she liked the book. So, I was teasing her about writing a review for it. Becky was game so that teasing bore fruit!
Here’s Becky’s review, which is the very first review for KISS OF FURY.
“Kiss of Fury, the second in Deborah Cooke’s Dragonfire series, is definitely this summer’s must read! Kiss of Fire, the first in the series, introduced us to the Pyr, a race of dragon shape shifters who look out for the Earth and humans. Prophecy has foretold three important firestorms, the mating sign for the Pyr. Three couples whose mating must be successful to win the battle for the world that is to come. Kiss of Fury brings back the charming Donovan Shea and introduces his brilliant mate, Alexandra Madison, a scientist whose invention could change the world. Alex’s lab is destroyed, her partner murdered and the fate of the invention is threatened. She’s on the run. Oh and there is the little matters of battling dragons and a firestorm to worry about.
I have to say I loved this book and I love this series. Whether writing as Claire Cross, Claire Delacroix or Deborah Cooke, this author never disappoints. These characters grab your heart, you feel invested in them and their happiness. I love that the characters from the first book are brought back and play an integral part in this one. The action is fast paced and the love story is both hot and tender. Alex is the perfect heroine, smart, funny, independent yet she needs Donovan’s love to fulfill her destiny. Donovan’s one of a kind, sexy, tough and fighting the firestorm all the way. What a pair! For anyone who likes dragons, Deborah’s work or hot guys, this is your series! It has everything. I loved every page, couldn’t put it down from start to finish. I can’t wait for Kiss of Fate, the third in the series. I can’t wait to find out when poor Rafferty gets his turn. The world of the Pyr is a place you will love to visit. Just don’t forget to come back!”
Aha! Becky did like the book! 🙂
Remember that you can still enter to win an ARC for FALLEN. Just scroll on down to the next post below this one – I’ll draw a winner tomorrow.

You know Darla, it’s kind of funny. I read Kiss of Fire in three hours, I finished it and told my husband that I didn’t know how I could possibly wait until August to get Kiss of Fury. Two days later, I entered the contest for the ARC and then won it. I was over the moon!! I got it on Thursday but was half of the way through another book. I hurried through that one, started KOF and never put it down. By Friday at noon I was done. Then I told my husband I was in real trouble since I read the second early and the third one doesn’t come out til next year. OMG, that is SO long!! And I LOVE these dragons!!

AND I worked half a day and spent 4 hours at the ICU with my Dad. That’s why I’m up to THREE handfuls of must read authors. LOL. I need to find a job where they give you a discount on books. Hmmmm, career change might be in order. Barnes & Noble MUST be hiring.

I’m the same way…give me a good book and there is nothing that gets through to me until I’m done! I have over 300 in my TBR pile so I have plenty to keep me busy until the next Dragon shows himself! No hurry Claire…I’ll wait! LOL

Like there’s any choice? LOL It doesn’t mean I won’t say how hard the wait is. 🙂 300 in your TBR pile, WOW!! I refuse to count mine. But it’s multiple big boxes though, and my whole half of under my bed. AND I have a list of at least 50 I haven’t bought yet. Plus I’ve avoided looking up some of my favorite authors so I don’t buy any more for a couple of months. Trying SO hard to be good.
