Happy Valentine’s Day

Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you! Here’s hoping you have some special plans with your sweetie to celebrate the day.

What’s your favourite thing to do, gift to give or gift to receive on Valentine’s Day? Is it the same choice as for other romantic occasions, or special just for this day?

I’m a big fan of a glass of champagne, regardless of the occasion – even if there isn’t one! I’m not even a snob about it being real champagne – sparkling wine or prosecco does just as well. I simply like those frothy little bubbles. They look so festive and they tickle the palate. My husband and I often have sparkling wine or champagne together – sometimes to celebrate, sometimes just because.

    1. Sam –

“The Valentine’s Scrooge” – what a great title for a short story or book, but you know the protagonist would have to repair his/her ways by the end, right?!

Have a good day with Scott. 🙂

  2. Valentine’s Day marks the anniversary of my “First Date” with my husband – he sent me flowers are work and asked me out for the first time. It was awkward and wonderful.

And here we are, 29 years later. I guess Cupid must had done hist thing properly on that Valentine’s Day.

  3. One year Oscar surprised me with a visit from a barbershop quartet wearing tuxes and carrying a bouquet of roses. I was wearing a flannel shirt and overalls. Oscar was still at work, but the photo one of the quartet took is one of our favorites.
This year we will mellow out watching some tv together. He has been extra busy lately, so that will be fine with me.
