”Harmonia’s Kiss” is a powerful tale of duty and passion. Enchanted for thousands of years, the shapeshifters known as the Dragon’s Teeth Warriors have awakened to find the world a vastly different place. Their leader, concerned for their morale, dares to take them on a mission to confront the fullness of everything they’ve lost. Little does Drake realize that this dangerous mission will give him a renewed purpose. And if they succeed these Pyr will have to question everything they thought they knew about the past—and confront a quest for the future.
This is a Penguin eSpecial and a new work, never before published.
• Penguin eSpecials Adobe Reader version
• iPad and iPhone – my friend with the iPad says it’s there in the iBooks store but you have to go through the app on the iPad. Search on Deborah Cooke, and you’ll get the first four Dragonfire books and the novella. (She says you’ll know what that means, if you’re an iPad user – and yes, she was trying to convert me to the cause in Orlando!)
EDITED TO ADD as of July 8, 2011 – there has been a glitch in the digital distribution for Dragonfire, as many of you have let me know. As of today, the elusive bit of code has been found and is being corrected. This change should take about two weeks to perk through all the retailer databases, and then will be fixed. 🙂 I am one happy author right now!

Bought this the day it came out Deb! I wish it had been longer so it could have developed more but it was a terrific little story anyway. I’ll give it 5 out of 5 stars for a rating.

Thanks DJ!
I’m glad you enjoyed it. Actually, it was longer than it was supposed to be – these eSpecials are supposed to be 6000 to 8000 words long, and we ended up close to 10,000. Oops!

Oh darn Deb, 10X words. But when they come from your imagination I say the more the merrier.

I’ll get it as soon as it is available through Amazon. I like that they send it to my Kindle directly without having me plugging it in to download. One of the reasons I went with a Kindle 🙂

Thanks Stephanie.
I realized last night that if the links go live next Tuesday and Wednesday, I’ll be at the RWA conference and unable to update this blog. (There’s too much to do at conf to be dragging around a laptop and looking for WiFi!) So please keep searching yourself and I’ll add links here when I get home. You could post here if you find it on Kindle, but you won’t be able to post a link – comments with links go to moderation, and I won’t be moderating while at conf either.

Is there any news when Harmonia’s Kiss is going to be available for the Kindle? I live in Canada, have a Kindle but it isn’t available yet.
I also checked the Penguin website and it isn’t available there either.
Thanks a lot Jo

Hi Jo –
There was a technical problem with the distribution, which was fixed on Wedneday. There’s another blog post here about it, but the bottom line is that it should be available everywhere by the end of the day on Wednesday the 28th. It sounds as if the Penguin link will be one of the last to go live.
Unfortunately, I’ll be at the RWA conference next week and won’t be able to update links here until I get home on the 1st. So, you can search yourself or wait for me to put the links up. I’ll do what I can before I leave.
Sorry for the muddle – thanks for your patience!

You should be able to buy a download from the Penguin US site, Sam.
Did you try?

Will “Harmonia’s Kiss” ever be available in print form? While digital forms are great I still prefer to have them on my book shelves, so much so, that I sometimes purchase them in both forms. I absolutely love the Dragonfire series!

Hi Judy –
Glad to hear you’re enjoying Dragonfire!
There are no current plans to issue this novella in print format. I keep asking! LOL! I suspect that it might be, if the series sells really really really well, and everything gets repackaged and rereleased. (Subliminal hint there – buy more Dragonfire. LOL)
If it does go to print, you’ll see the news here, on my Facebook fan page, and on my website. 🙂

Hi,
I have just found you and your dragons, wonderful. I am enjoying the tales very very much. I’ve just tried downloading Harmonia’s kiss to my kindle but as I am in the UK it is not available. Any other way of getting it?
Thanks M

Hi Mairi – Glad you’re enjoying the series so much!
The Amazon distribution for HK is very odd. It’s supposed to be for world English, which means that you should be able to buy and download it in the UK. I’ve repeatedly heard from readers outside the US that they can’t buy the file. Thus far, it’s only been fixed for Canada, despite my questions to the publisher. I’ll ask again.
Any chance you can read a different format on your Kindle? I believe this is purely an Amazon distribution issue. You could also try the publisher’s website – they were planning to sell direct to consumer there, but I’m not sure whether that’s yet the case.

Hi Mairi –
I asked. The answer is that you will be able to buy “Harmonia’s Kiss” from amazon.com, instead of amazon.uk (which is probably what you’re trying to do). I hope this is true and it works!
I also realized that my link in this post is from the time when the Amazon stuff was messed up. I’ve corrected it now.
If the link doesn’t work or you still can’t buy the novella, please let me know. 🙂
Thanks!

Ah, and evidently this solution still does not work for readers in the UK. Stay tuned!

Just a quickie update for all of you. Current thinking is that the metadata sent to Amazon was incorrect. I think this puts us a step closer to a solution, so stay tuned!

Will there be a book about Sloane’s firestorm???

Hi Kathy –
There are two more Dragonfire books contracted, taking us to 8 in total. The idea is that there will be more, and every Pyr will get his firestorm. Fingers crossed!

Is there any way to purchase “Harmonia’s Kiss” that doesn’t involve e-readers……. a book would be nice or in PDF form???

Hi Carol –
No print edition of the story, yet! I think you can buy a PDF of Harmonia’s Kiss directly from Penguin. The url gets ugly really fast – go their site here then put my name into the search field. My books will be displayed, then in the left sidebar, you can choose Adobe Reader. “Harmonia’s Kiss” is the fourth option. 🙂
Hope you enjoy the story!

Howdy,
Do you think a UK kindle version of Harmonia’s Kiss will ever be available? i keep trying in the hopes that it may magically appear one day but no luck so far. I’ve even tried going to penguin books but as i live in the uk i get directed to the UK site and you don’t even show up as one of their authors, which is a bit random.
I know you are probably tired of answering this question but I really want to read about the Dragon’s teeth worriors.
Despite that fact I am looking forward to the rest of the series and have already pre ordered Flashfire and have winging it sitting in my wish list waiting to be pre ordered on kindle when available 🙂

Hi Shanna –
ARGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGHGH! I thought this was solved already. (insert much gnashing of teeth here)
Okay, I’m going back to Penguin to ask what’s going on. There had been a mistake in the metadata, which got fixed, and the Aussies were able to buy the novella. Can you tell me – are there Kindle editions available to UK readers for the Dragonfire novels? Because that also had a mistake in the metadata for some titles, which I also thought had been fixed.
I shall ask again about HK. It’s probably more effective for me to ask than you.
btw, I don’t show up as a Penguin UK author, because I’m a Penguin US author. There are no separate UK editions of Dragonfire published by Penguin UK, and the UK editions of the Dragon Diaries are published by Allison & Busby. Penguin UK just distributes the US edition there. It’s the same here in Canada and in Australia, etc.
Thanks so much for your patience. 🙂
