Red & White

Today is Canada Day. Like most national holidays of this flavour, it’s celebrated with family gatherings, parades, politicians and fireworks.

I think we should celebrate with food too. So, today, eat something red and white in honour of Canada Day. (You can stick a ‘u’ into words like ‘honour’ and ‘colour’ too if you like.) It doesn’t have to be maple-flavoured either. (Ha! Another rogue ‘u’!)

Strawberry shortcake sounds like the perfect candidate to me. On the fourth, we can toss some blueberries in with the strawberries and celebrate Independence Day in similar style.

Happy Canada Day!

  3. YEAH! Happy Canada Day to you too! Too bad it’s supposed to rain today. We went to Ontario Place on Saturday (actually we sat on the roof of my husband’s company building) so we will forgo the fireworks today. I am going to make baked brie (white) with strawberry sauce (red).
