And the flakes just keep on coming. We got snow on Friday and snow on Sunday. There’s more snow falling, and more snow forecast. It will definitely be a white Christmas in this neck of the woods.
Last winter, I mentioned to Mr. C. that my friend had joined a gym after the holidays. I thought this was a really good idea, btw. He asked why she didn’t just get a snow shovel, insisting that a $20 shovel was a much better value than a gym membership. I ignored him, and said that I might join a gym, too. He offered to buy me my own snow shovel. As much as I hate to admit it, the man is right. Shovelling snow is a really good workout and when it snows as persistently and continuously as this, getting aerobic three times a week isn’t a problem.
Maybe the snow is timely, given that the holiday goodies are making their annual appearance.
So, I’m off to shovel some more and then to write and then to get some Christmas baking done. (Kind of a vicious cycle there – eat Nanaimo bars, shovel, eat shortbread cookies, shovel, eat trifle, shovel…!) Here’s wishing all of you a happy holiday season – drive safely and take care of yourselves! I’ll see you back here at New Years.
We’ll start the new year knitting socks — to wear in our boots when we’re shovelling snow, of course.
Happy holidays, everyone!

Keep that snow up there! I don’t find shoveling snow particularly enjoyable, even when I consider it exercise.
Maybe ’cause I’m always doing it in the dark after work.
Have a great holiday D/C!

Hey Deb – hope you enjoyed all that shovelling – I seem to recall it’s a great workout. We’ve had over 20 cm here (a lot for coastal BC), but won’t be shovelling more than the front step. Walking in it is good exercise too, so we’ll stick with that 🙂
Happy Christmas!!

Hi Claire,
I have never seen snow. I was just 58 on Christmas eve. I would love to see snow.
I have lived in Florida all my life.
Enjoy your books so much.
Thanks,
