New Website for Claire

One of my goals when I went indie was to consolidate my social media and website presence. While this seemed like a good idea at the time, as I publish more books, it appears to be less of a good idea.

Over these past few days, I’ve built a new website for Claire Delacroix’s books. The DNS mapped this morning, so the new site has the url delacroix.net, which has been Claire’s website url for more than 20 years. In recent years, that url pointed to this site, but now Claire has her own virtual château again.

That means I’ll be able to simplify this site a great deal. I’m looking forward to that, although it won’t happen immediately. First, the end matter in all of my books needs to be corrected so people don’t click dead links. I also still need to populate all the links on Claire’s new site, and add all of the audiobook covers. The blog will remain here on this site, although Claire’s home page is called New & Next to feature new and upcoming releases.

The lion’s share of the work is done at this point. Hop on over and have a look at Claire’s shiny new home in cyberspace.

If you have any issues with the new site, please let me know by commenting on this post. 🙂

A New Site for Romance

A friend of mine has set up a new website for romance readers called My Forever HEA.

The Beauty Bride, first book in the Jewels of Kinfairlie series of medieval Scottish romances by Claire DelacroixThere are featured books on the site, as well as discounted and free romances listed by subgenre.  You’ll find The Beauty Bride in the historical romance category. She has plans to build the site in many ways, including announcements of new releases, and there’s a newsletter, too.

Websites on the Move

Welcome to my new website!

I’ve finally updated all of my legacy systems and amalgamated everything in one place. Here you’ll find all of my books – written as myself Deborah Cooke, as Claire Delacroix and as Claire Cross – as well as the new incarnation of my blog, Alive and Knitting.

The move will be an incremental one. First, this site had to be created and turned on for the world. That’s done. Next, the domain name deborahcooke.com will repoint to this site, and its url will change.

As a result of that change, a lot of links are going to go 404. 😦 The ones I’m most concerned about are those in the back of the digital editions of my books. The next phase of the move, which will take several months in 2014, will be to update the end matter in all of my digital books with new links, links that point here.

The next big ugly job will be moving all of the content from my current blog (located at http://www.delacroix.net/blog for many years) to this server and address. There will be missing images and links resulting from that transaction, too. I’ll also have to hunt down all the blog feeds on the internet and update the address for the rss.

Phew! After that’s done, clairecross.com and delacroix.net will be repointed to this site, although its url will remain deborahcooke.com At some point in the future, the hosting on dragondiaries.com will expire and it will be pointed here, too.

It’s a lot of work, but once it’s done, it’ll be easier for me to maintain and for you to find information about my books. So, have a look around the new site and familiarize yourself with it. This is where everything will be!

A New Project

I’ve joined up with twelve other historical romance authors on a new project – a website and blog called Love Historicals. It’s been crazy getting everything loaded up to the new site, and we’ve been lucky to have some terrific expertise on our side pulling it together. Thanks to Jack for doing the site and Christy (one of our member authors) for the header and background. Sydney has been the prime mover on all of this, and it’s helped us to get to know each other more.

Now come on over and check out the new site!
