Notifications

There’s another new way for you to get news about your favourite authors.

I told you a few weeks ago about the new feature available at Amazon on their author pages. You can now click to be notified when any author has a new book released. There’s more detail about this, as well as links to my Amazon author pages, in my post from November.

Also, as of this week, BookBub has added a feature for subscribers – if you are a BookBub subscriber, you can ask to me notified when a specific author has a new BookBub promotion. This is supposed to work even if you unsubscribe from BookBub, so it must be a separate newsletter list. You can read more about the Author Follow feature on their blog right here.

I think it’s great that portals are finally simplifying the process of having readers know what authors are up to. You might not want to subscribe to a lot of author newsletters, and you know that you will go back to your sales portal of choice or to a favourite promotion site. What do you think of these features? Are you using them, or do you plan to?

Amazon Author Pages

Amazon is one of the few portals that offers a page for each author published there. On the Amazon author page, you’ll find info about the author, a list of his or her books, and often a feed from the author’s blog (like this one. Hello, Amazon peeps!) They recently redesigned the author pages and among the new features is an Add to Favorites button.

If you click on this – and you’ll probably need to be signed into your Amazon account – you’re opting in to be notified of that author’s new releases. I think this is a really cool feature, so wanted to be sure you knew about it. The button is right under the author photo.

Updated Schedule

The Frost Maiden's Kiss, a medieval romance and third book in the True Love Brides series by Claire DelacroixNow that Thorolf is out in the world, I’ve been digging back into my writing. As I mentioned earlier, the publication of Serpent’s Kiss took a little longer than I’d expected. I also have some traveling scheduled for this month, so need to allow a buffer for that. I warned you  that I’d like change the schedule for the rest of the year, to leave a little more time for book files to make their way out into the world. Today is update day!

The Frost Maiden’s Kiss is the next book in my True Love Brides series of medieval romances. It will now be an August release. I’ll give you a firmer date once it’s off to my editor and her schedule is confirmed. I have changed the copy for The Frost Maiden’s Kiss—it has turned out that Catriona didn’t like my story as much as my own, and like my favorite characters, she’s gone and changed the story to suit herself. I’ve updated it here on the site.

I’m also trying to follow quickly with the publication of The Warrior’s Prize, and am aiming for October publication of that book. I’ll let you know closer in a couple of months as to how that’s going.

Also, there’s an additional title in the works for this summer, a collection of my own short stories and novellas called Beguiled. That is scheduled for July, so you will have some reading this summer from me.

THE COUNTESS Reader Letter

The Countess, book #1 in the Bride Quest II trilogy of Scottish medieval romances, by Claire DelacroixDear Reader –

What would you do to ensure a better life for your children?

In The Countess, Eglantine is determined that her daughters don’t share her romantic fate – she wants them to have the chance to marry for love and is prepared to sacrifice a great deal to give them that opportunity. Her choice is rewarded – not just for her daughters, but for herself, for in leaving all she knows, Eglantine meets the irresistible Duncan MacLaren. I really don’t know how she kept him at distance as long as she did! I love Duncan – it was great to read his story again, and hear his stories.

The Countess is the first book in my second Bride Quest trilogy of medieval romances, sometimes called the Scottish Bride Quest. Although this trilogy stands alone from the original Bride Quest, there are links between the characters. It’s not necessary to read the books in order, but reading them all is fun – I had forgotten, for example, that Burke and Alys from The Damsel have a cameo appearance in this book. It was good to see them again!

I’m very pleased that all six of the Bride Quest titles are available again, in both digital and print editions.

In other news, I’m also writing a new medieval series called The True Love Brides. This new series picks up the story of the Lammergeier family after The Rogues of Ravensmuir trilogy and the Jewels of Kinfairlie trilogy. Many readers have written to me over the years, concerned that the younger daughters of this family remained unmarried, and I’m delighted to have the chance to tell their stories and give them their HEA’s. The True Love Brides series is also set in Scotland. The Renegade’s Heart will be published in May 2012 and features the story of Isabella. There is more information about these new books on my website.

As with all of my re-releases, I’ve chosen not to revise this book, but to republish it pretty much the way it was published in the first place.

I’ve enjoyed revisiting The Countess, I hope you enjoy reading it, as well.

Until next time, I hope you are well and have plenty of good books to read.

All my best,
Claire

THE BEAUTY Reader Letter

The Beauty, book #2 of the Bride Quest II trilogy of Scottish medieval romances and a NYT bestselling title, by Claire DelacroixDear Reader;

What would you do to see justice served? In The Beauty, Jacqueline is certain that joining a convent is preferable to marrying any man. Experience has left her fearful of men’s desires – of course, she doesn’t expect to be kidnapped en route to the convent and persuaded otherwise. Angus MacGillivray is a wounded warrior, returned home to disappointment and determined to collect his due. He mistakes Jacqueline for another maiden, then is beguiled by her innocence and her trust.

I love how these two changed each other. Jacqueline restored Angus’ faith in the world by her faith in him and her determination to see justice served. Angus meanwhile persuaded Jacqueline that passion is not to be feared, at least not with a man who holds her as dear as he does.

The Beauty is the second book in my Scottish Bride Quest trilogy of medieval romances. Although this trilogy stands alone from the original Bride Quest and it’s not necessary to read the books in order, there are links between the characters and many readers do prefer to start at the beginning. The original Bride Quest trilogy (The Princess, The Damsel and The Heiress) remains available in both digital and print editions from Bantam Dell. The second Bride Quest trilogy – including The Countess, The Beauty and The Temptress – is also now available in new digital and print editions.

As with all of my re-releases, I’ve chosen not to revise this book, but to republish it pretty much the way it was published in the first place.

In spring 2012, watch for a new series of medieval romances from me, once again set in Scotland. The Renegade’s Heart is the first in The True Love Brides, a four book series that picks up the story of the Lammergeier siblings after the end of my Jewels of Kinfairlie trilogy. These historicals also have fantasy elements, which I love to include. The Renegade’s Heart is Isabella’s story. You can learn more about all of my books on my website.

I’ve enjoyed revisiting The Beauty, and meeting Angus and Jacqueline all over again. I hope you enjoy reading their story, as well.

Until next time, I hope you are well and have plenty of good books to read.

All my best,
Claire
