Wyvern’s Angel

Wyvern's Angel, book #9 of the Dragons of Incendium series of paranormal romances by Deborah CookeWyvern’s Angel has been published!

I was a little late with this one, but the book is available now. Phew!

Wyvern’s Angel is book #9 in the Dragons of Incendium series of paranormal romances featuring dragon shifter princesses from space. Bond, the hero of this one, is a fallen angel with a taste for the pleasures of the material world, while Percipia doesn’t have a lot of patience for savoring. I like these two together and how they shift each other’s assumptions. 🙂

New Cover for Holly And Drew

As you know, my Christmas romance novella, A Berry Merry Christmas, is available in a digital edition on its own now. I originally thought that a cartoon cover would work for this story, but we had a tough time choosing the image from the available stock.

It took two steps to launch this new cover idea.

First, Debbie Barao told me when we met in Florida how much she loved the story and that it reminded her of a Hallmark movie. What a wonderful compliment, but also one that got me thinking about the cover. Hmm.

Second, I saw that my cover artist, Kim Killion, had done covers for the new Hallmark e-books. You can see the first few on the Hallmark website right here. I love these covers, as they have that Christmas-magic feel that I wanted for Holly’s book. I emailed Kim about changing the cover image and we got to work.

A Berry Merry Christmas, a holiday romance novella by Deborah CookeIt still took time to find the right photographic stock—and many discussions about magic-y bits. We followed a few false leads and ideas that didn’t get us where we needed to be, but the result was worth the effort. I love it to bits and Kim does, too.

A new edition of the novella has been published to all portals with the new cover art. The interior is the same as before, but you can download the new edition to have this cover image on your device.

One Knight Enchanted

I’m finally making progress on the republication of my books which were originally published by Harlequin Historicals. Mostly, I needed a plan. 🙂 They all need some revision and some reworking, partly because I’ve learned a few things about writing and storytelling in the past twenty years. I also wanted to build stronger series connections between the books, as many of the series grew organically instead of being planned from the outset.

One Knight Enchanted, book #2 of the Sayerne Series of medieval romances by Claire DelacroixFirst up is a revised edition of my story, Enchanted, which was always a favourite of mine. I love the new version even more. It’s called One Knight Enchanted and is available for pre-order now, with a delivery date in December.  This book will be going into Kindle Unlimited on publication, and will be available for 99 cents when it first goes on sale.

I also love the new cover.

Annelise de Sayerne is determined that only true love will convince her to pledge herself in marriage, a legacy of her father’s cruelty. When her brother conspires to see her wed against her will, she insists upon returning to the convent instead. En route, their party is attacked by wolves and divided. Annelise finds herself before the gates of a mysterious palace, hungry predators at her heels, only to learn that the price of admission is marriage to the palace’s lord, sight unseen.

A knight and younger son, Rolfe de Viandin hopes his older brother rewards him on his return from crusade with a small holding of his own. But on his way home, Rolfe opens the gift he bought for his brother in Outremer, releasing a djinn from captivity. He is granted a magical palace, but also cursed to be a wolf by day and man by night—unless love breaks the curse and sets him free. Could lovely, impulsive Annelise be his salvation? Or will she be the one to bring treachery to his gates instead?

The Dragons of Incendium: The First Collection

The first digital bundle and trade paperback in the Incendium series is available for pre-order, to deliver on May 25.

The Dragons of Incendium: The First Collection including the first six works in Deborah Cooke's paranormal romance series

The Dragons of Incendium: The First Collection

Once, in the Kingdom of Incendium, there were twelve princesses of the realm, each a dragon shifter. Each fiery and passionate. Each possessed of an appetite for pleasure that only her destined mate can satisfy. Twelve men are expected in Incendium, each with special powers of his own, each with the gift to claim one dragon princess’s heart forever.

In Wyvern’s Mate, Drakina intends to fulfill her obligation as the oldest daughter by seducing her destined mate and winning her freedom. Troy’s lovemaking leaves Drakina hungry for more, until she discovers that he’s an assassin and she’s his intended victim. Will his MindBending powers condemn him in the fiery princess’s view or see him saved?

In Wyvern’s Prince, Gemma agrees to an arranged marriage with the crown prince of Regalia, to build an alliance between the two kingdoms. She expects duty, not love, but finds both when her new husband’s discredited twin brother proves to be her destined mate—but Venero has been enchanted. Can Gemma break the spell cast upon her prince or will she share his fate?

In Wyvern’s Warrior, Thalina intercepts an intruder in Incendium’s palace, allowing herself to be taken captive to learn his plan. To her delight, Acion is a highly developed android and she wants nothing more than to study him thoroughly, especially his amorous abilities—but Acion’s presence on Incendium violates the law. Will he be exterminated before Thalina satisfies her curiosity?

Fabulous Audiobook Review for The Frost Maiden’s Kiss

The Frost Maiden's Kiss, a medieval romance and third book in the True Love Brides series by Claire Delacroix There’s a wonderful new review of the audiobook of The Frost Maiden’s Kiss at Rabid Reads this morning. This is pretty much the best way to start a day, in my opinion. 🙂 Here’s a snippet:

“The Fae aspect of this book wound through the story in different ways, all the while taking a backseat to the romance between Malcolm and Catriona. While it’s not the focus, it is however the catalyst for many of Malcolm’s decisions concerning Ravensmuir and Catriona. Storytelling back then was one of the few ways of entertainment the people had. A lot of it is in the form of poems and songs. Catriona sings of the Fae, but doesn’t believe in them. This was one aspect that I enjoyed listening to, rather than reading. Not that the narrator sings, but I found it easier to listen, when I would probably have skimmed that part of the book, had I been reading.

I did think the narrator, Saskia Maarleveld did a really good job. She was excellent at the accents she used, all the while keeping it clear for the reader to understand every word. Sometimes a Scots accent is hard to understand for the average person(Outlander anyone?), but not so here. I would like to listen to other audio books by this narrator as she added a lot to the story for me, especially as she portrayed the depths of feelings between the two main characters.

I don’t read that many historical books, although I do like them for a change of pace sometimes, and this one really fit the bill for me. I enjoyed getting to know the main characters, reading the obviously well researched historical aspects, and of course, the romance. As far as the Fae, we do see just enough of them to see how evil they are, and also see how much havoc they can create. There’s threats of war, and someone from Catriona’s past comes around just to cause more drama. There’s some twists here, and I think this is the perfect story for adult historical romance readers that enjoy a paranormal element in their stories.

FYI-It’s not necessary to read any of the other books in this series, in order to enjoy this one.”
