  1. Hi! I’m wondering why the fifth book came out before the fourth? I mean, I believe you said they are best read in order, so does that mean even though THE CRUSADER’S HANDFAST is out, THE CRUSADER’S VOW should be read before that one? I need to catch up on some of your other books, but I have super fond memories of reading THE DAMSEL back in high school. I loved those books–still have all of them in mass market paperback from when they first came out!!

    • Hi Lily – I talk about that in the reader letter for The Crusader’s Handfast but the issue was that there were parts of the overall adventure that weren’t going to fit into the four main stories. I decided to add a fifth book to cover those details, but doing so threw off my own writing schedule. That meant book #5 was published before book #4. Book #5 is structured to have no spoilers (you’ve probably guessed that Fergus and Leila end up together) so you can read it before The Crusader’s Vow, or you can wait to read it after. The timelines of the two do overlap a little bit. Basically, I wrote myself into a corner and had to write my way back out!

I’m glad you enjoyed the Bride Quest and still have those books. That was a while ago, but I loved writing those books. Thanks for reading my books and having them on your keeper shelf!
