Quiet on the Home Front

Shhhhhh, it’s as quiet as a library around here. I’ve been writing this week. A lot. It’s just lovely. I’m having a wonderful time, finishing up Dragonfire #7. I’m tucking in the ends, writing the last great sex scene, writing the last great dragon fight, tweaking the conflicts and tidying up the corners. It’s an intense phase of the process of creating a book, but actually, one of my favourite parts of that process. I love seeing everything come together – because there are other places in the process when it routinely feels as if they never will. I really like this book, too.

Eithne at Ni Anluain Designs is working merrily away on the new cover for THE SCOUNDREL and the text file is ready to go. I’m hoping to upload it to Amazon this weekend or early next week. It should be available for Kindle by mid-month at the latest. Then, it’s on to THE WARRIOR for May.

I have buckets of blog posts to write and interviews to do for May and June, as things are pretty booked up there. Next week, I promise to post here more regularly. 🙂 Hope all is well in your corner of the world.

What are you knitting?

  1. So when do we get to find out the title, see the cover, and find out who is featured in Dragonfire #7??? Tell me it’s Sloane!!!

    • Well, DJ, the title is FLASHFIRE – and it’s already available for pre-order on Amazon! That made me laugh this morning. January 3 onsale.

I expect the cover will be done in June or July, and the copy will be ready to show you at roughly the same time – so that’s when you’ll find out!

  2. Hi Deb, If that’s what it takes for you to come up with the amazing novels the way you do, I say to all shhhhhhhhhhhhhh, let her work because I for one can’t wait to find out who has his firestorm next, how he snares the prize and what in the heck those slayers are up to now.

    • Okay, Sam, now you’ve confused me! The last what? Every book has a final dragonfight and a final sex scene – I meant that, not the last of the Dragonfire series. I still have #8 contracted, and they know I want to write 13.

Does that make you feel better?
